GCM instructors at the leading edge of AI

GCM instructors are taking AI out of the hype cycle and into real world workflows. Christopher Smyth and Lee Eldridge have been working at the leading edge of Agentic AI across three fronts: Research, with Industry, and in the classroom.

Over two Ontario Printing and Imaging Association webinars, they moved past generic “prompting” and showed what Agentic AI looks like in business environments: defined roles, approved data sources, repeatable tasks, and human oversight. The focus was practical, not speculative: Job intake from messy client emails, Estimating support, Workflow integration, and the cautions and guardrails that keep systems private, safe and accountable.

At TMU’s Creative AI Hub Symposium, they extended the same theme into public-facing work, including a research-creation exhibit that makes AI’s infrastructure and impacts tangible rather than abstract.
